PLEASE READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS AND COMPLY WITH ALL THE FORMAL REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO AVOID DELAYS IN THE PROCESSING OF VISAS. IMPORTANT NOTES: 1. THERE IS NO VISA FEE FOR INDIAN CITIZENS. FOR CITIZENS OF NEPAL, MALDIVES, BANGLADESH, SRI LANKA, AND BHUTAN, THE VISA FEE IS US $ 42. THE APPLICANT HAS TO PAY THE COST OF THE BANKING PROCEDURE (IF THERE IS ANY). OTHER NATIONALITIES, PLEASE CONSULT WITH THE CONSULATE. FAMILY REUNIFICATION VISAS ARE FREE OF CHARGE. 2. AT THE TIME OF THE PRINTING OF THE VISA, THE APPLICANT MUST PRESENT ISSUED AIR TICKET. 3. IT IS INFORMED THAT IN CASE OF REMAINING IN URUGUAY FOR A LONGER PERIOD THAN STATED AT THE TIME OF APPLYING FOR A VISA, THE APPLICANTS MUST HAVE SUFFICIENT MEANS TO GUARANTEE THEIR MAINTENANCE AND ACCOMMODATION. IN NO CASE THE URUGUAYAN STATE COULD BE CHARGED. THEY MUST ALSO REGULATE THEIR IMMIGRATION STATUS IN THE COUNTRY IN THE LEGALLY APPLICABLE TERMS. 4. ACCORDING TO DECREE 136/18 "ANY PERSON WHO APPLIES TO THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS, THE CONSULAR OFFICES OF THE REPUBLIC OR THE MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR (NATIONAL DIRECTORATE OF MIGRATION) FOR RESIDENCE IN URUGUAYAN TERRITORY, MUST PROVE THAT THE VACCINES THAT MAKE UP THE CERTIFICATE OF VACCINATION OF URUGUAY ARE VALID, ACCORDING TO HIS AGE. IN CASE OF HAVING BEEN VACCINATED ABROAD, THE PERSON MUST ATTEND ANY VACCINATION AND PRESENT THE DOCUMENTATION ATTESTING TO SUCH END, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ISSUING A CERTIFICATE THAT THE VACCINES ARE IN FORCE". FOR CONTRAINDICATION OF VACCINES PLEASE ASK THE CONSULAR OFFICE. VISA REQUIREMENTS BY CATEGORY BY LAW N° 19.670, LAW N° 18.250, DECREE 356/2018, DECREE 136/2018, DECREE 394/2009 AND MINISTERIAL RESOLUTION 549/2018, AMONG ANOTHER APPLICABLE NORMS: BUSINESS VISA: BUSINESS VISA CAN BE REQUESTED BY THOSE PEOPLE WHO WISH TO ENTER THE COUNTRY TO PERFORM BUSINESS ACTIVITIES, FOR INVESTMENT OR COMMERCIAL EXCHANGE WITH URUGUAYAN COMPANIES WHICH ARE BASED IN THE REPUBLIC OR PUBLIC ORGANIZATIONS. THE VALIDITY OF THE VISA IS 90 DAYS WITH MULTIPLE ENTRY. A.1 Complete Visa Application Form A.2 A recent passport size photo B.1 Valid Passport in good condition with at least 6 months of validity (Expiry) at the time of leaving Uruguayan territory. B.2 Photocopy of the Passport. C. 1 Letter from the company, headquarters or public body in Uruguay that invites the applicant for the visa. It must be on the letterhead, signed by the responsible authority of the company, headquarters or public body. The letter must contain the personal data of the person in charge of the company that invites the applicant. C. 2 Photocopy of Identity document of the reference in Uruguay D.1 Letter from the company for which the applicant works, indicating the company name and business profile. It must also include the position of the applicant. D. 2 Photocopy of the Identity document of reference in India E. Travel ticket or ticket reservation (round trip); F. Medical certificate. VISA OF TOURISM: PEOPLE WHO WISH TO ENTER THE COUNTRY ON A TEMPORARY BASIS WITH A MOTIVE OF PLEASURE OR LEISURE MAY APPLY FOR TOURISM VISA. VALIDITY OF THE VISA IS 90 DAYS WITH MULTIPLE ENTRY. A.1 Complete Visa Application Form A.2 A recent passport size photo B.1 Valid Passport in good condition with at least 6 months of validity (Expiry) at the time of leaving Uruguayan territory. B.2 Photocopy of the Passport. C. Reservation of the hotel or other proof of accommodation D. Proof of income, duly accredited that can justify the maintenance and accommodation in Uruguay for the period of stay declared by the applicant (examples: bank statements of the last three months, proof of salary, international credit card, photocopy only one side, all of the above, etc.) E. Travel ticket or ticket reservation (round trip); F. Medical certificate. WORK VISA: WORK VISA CAN BE REQUESTED BY THOSE PEOPLE WHO INTEND TO DEVELOP A WORK ACTIVITY IN URUGUAY. THE VALIDITY OF THE VISA IS 30 DAYS WITH SINGLE ENTRY, FROM THE DATE OF ENTRY TO THE COUNTRY IN WHICH THE APPLICANT MAY APPLY FOR RESIDENCY IN URUGUAY. THE APPLICANT SHOULD BE ABOVE 18 YEARS OF AGE. A.1 Complete Visa Application Form A.2 A recent passport size photo B.1 Valid Passport in good condition with at least 6 months of validity (Expiry) at the time of leaving Uruguayan territory. B.2 Photocopy of the Passport. C. 1 Letter of promise of work extended by company or institution duly registered in Uruguay, in accordance with the national legislation in force. It must include the company's data, information on the business activity, number of registrations in DGI and BPS, as well as personal data and signature of the legal representative of the company. C. 2 Photocopy of identity document of the reference in Uruguay; STUDY VISA: STUDY VISA CAN BE APPLIED BY THOSE WHO INTEND TO STUDY, USE SCHOLARSHIPS OR INTERNSHIPS IN OFFICIAL, GOVERNMENTAL OR EXCHANGE PROGRAMS IN INSTITUTIONS ENABLED OR AUTHORIZED BY THE ORGANIZATIONS. THE VALIDITY OF THE VISA IS 30 DAYS WITH SINGLE ENTRY, FROM THE DATE OF ENTRY TO THE COUNTRY IN WHICH THE APPLICANT MAY APPLY FOR RESIDENCY IN URUGUAY. A.1 Complete Visa Application Form A.2 A recent passport size photo B.1 Valid Passport in good condition with at least 6 months of validity (Expiry) at the time of leaving Uruguayan territory. B.2 Photocopy of the Passport. C. 1 Proof of registration or note of the institution or public or private educational center where the applicant He/She will study, benefit or develop the internship. It must be on the letterhead and signed by the legal representative of the institution and must contain the personal data of the representative, as well as the registration number or authorization of the Ministry of Education and Culture. C. 2 Photocopy of identity document of the reference in Uruguay D. Proof of income, duly accredited that can justify the maintenance and accommodation in Uruguay for the period of stay declared by the applicant (examples: bank statements of the last three months, proof of salary, international credit card, photocopy only one side, all of the above, etc.) FAMILY REUNIFICATION VISA: FAMILY REUNIFICATION VISA CAN BE APPLIED BY THOSE PEOPLE WHO WISH TO REUNIFY WITH THEIR FAMILY ACCORDING TO ARTICLE 10 OF LAW NRO. 18,250, AND MAY BE REQUESTED BY PARENTS, SPOUSES, SINGLE CHILDREN UNDER AGE OR OLDER WITH DISABILITIES, WHICH MAY BE CARRIED OUT WITH PERMANENT OR IN PROCESS RESIDENTS BUT WITH PROOF OF INCOME BEFORE THE NATIONAL DIRECTORATE OF MIGRATIONS, AND WITH CONSENT OF THE FAMILY MEMBER IN URUGUAY. THE VALIDITY OF THE VISA IS 30 DAYS WITH SINGLE ENTRY. A.1 Complete Visa Application Form A.2 A recent passport size photo B.1 Valid Passport in good condition with at least 6 months of validity (Expiry) at the time of leaving Uruguayan territory. B.2 Photocopy of the Passport. C. Document issued by the competent authority that certifies the link with the family member to reunify (eg Birth Certificate, Marriage, etc., always apostilled or duly legalized) D. For minors under 18 years of age, authorization from their legal representatives must be presented to reside in Uruguay E.1 Signed express consent of the relative citizen, permanent resident or resident in process with proof of income presented E.2 Photocopy of identity document of the reference in Uruguay HUMANITARIAN AND EMERGENCY VISAS:HUMANITARIAN ANDEMERGENCY VISAS MAY BE APPLIED TO PERSONS WHO HAVE A WELLFOUNDED AND DULY ACCREDITED CHANCE FOR ENTRY INTOURUGUAY, SUCH AS: MEDICAL TREATMENT, ASSISTANCE TO A COURTHEARING, DEATH OR HEALTH SITUATIONS OF A FAMILY MEMBER ORFRIEND AND, THOSE CASES THAT ARE AUTHORIZED BY THECOMPETENT AUTHORITY. SINGLE ENTRY VISA FOR 30 DAYS A.1 Complete Visa Application Form A.2 A recent passport size photo B.1 Valid Passport in good condition with at least 6 months of validity (Expiry) at the time of leaving Uruguayan territory. B.2 Photocopy of the Passport. C. Document proving reliably the reason for which it isrequested to enter the country, as required for each case VISA FOR CONGRESSES, CONVENTIONS AND SEMINARS WITH NATIONAL OR INTERNATIONAL CHARACTER: THEY CAN REQUEST THIS TYPE OF VISA THOSE PERSONS WHO ACCREDIT AN INVITATION BY ORGANIZATIONS OF EVENTS OF NATIONAL OR INTERNATIONAL NATURE OF PUBLIC INTEREST THAT ARE REALIZED IN URUGUAY. MUTLIPLE VISA ENTERED BY 90 DAYS. A.1 Complete Visa Application Form A.2 A recent passport size photo B.1 Valid Passport in good condition with at least 6 months of validity (Expiry) at the time of leaving Uruguayan territory. B.2 Photocopy of the Passport. C. 1 Letter of invitation from the organization of the event. In the case of institutions and private organizations, the letter must include a description of the institution and the event to be carried out and the registration or authorization number of the Ministry of Education and Culture. Likewise, it must contain the data of the head of the institution or organization C. 2 Photocopy of identity document of the reference in Uruguay D. Document accrediting the public interest of the event E. Travel ticket or ticket reservation (round trip) F. Reservation of the hotel or other proof of accommodation CONSULAR INTERVIEW: Verification of identity The Consular Section may require the presence of the applicant in the Consular Section for a personal interview or electronic visual contact. A form that does not meet the formal requirements will not be considered for the Visa process. Applicant must answer simple questions about their livelihood, activities and reasons for their visit to Uruguay. The applicant will be informed later when his visa is ready. Requirements for citizens of other countries of the consular jurisdiction (non-residents of India) The process is similar to that required for the citizens of India: once the complete application is received, it will be analyzed and then the Consular Section can call the interested party to conduct the visa interview. Visa requests sent by courier service with incomplete documentation will not be processed. Direct contact with the Consular Section is required.
